Phlegmmy's brainchild, the league had
its first evening of play on Sept 22, 2004. p had been playing on a clean
team but loves good adult. He wanted one good night of adult acro a week
and thought that if he scheduled it, people would want to come and play.
He mentioned it to AC and Grape and they both said "What about clean?"
From there, fantazm, GrapeApe, ACJanie, and p started to put together a
night of acro run like a neighbourhood bar's "Dart Night," a night of
organized play for individuals based on a 16 week rotation or season.
Rules of Play:
Three games per match. See Rankings for scoring information.
Clean:
Squeaky clean; no profanity or
innuendo.
Adult:
Acros are headlined (all words capitalized) and end with an exclamation point
(question mark OK). An exception would be the title of a story, which
doesn't need to end with a punctuation mark.
General Acro (GA):
No topics are used. Shoot for one thought, one sentence.
Couch: The round winner creates and types the topic in the chat area using the command "/st" followed by the topic. The first round is always GA. The round winner may not use GA
or Pander as the topic. If a topic is not provided, the topic becomes "Why is there no topic?"
Winner's Choice (WC): The round winner either creates a topic
(including GA and Pander) or lets the server provide one. Please note that
pander is permitted ONLY when it is entered as the topic.
Story: The first round is the title of the story,
headlined and in quotes. The winning acro becomes the title of the story and
the following topics continue the story. The Face-Off acros conclude the story or provide the moral.
Something Else (SE):
Our take on "Something for Everyone" using topics which are submitted by our
members.
Grammar:
Please capitalize and punctuate your sentences properly, and avoid use of
the ellipsis (...) and the ampersand (&).
